About Stanman

Stanman enjoys creating functional art glass from his Dallas-Ft Worth, TX area studio in fantastic color combinations and patterns rarely seen in the glass art marketplace.

Stanman has been a tie dye artist for over 30 years and making his trademark TieDyeGlass products for 7 years. In the mid 1990s he could be found on summer tour with The Grateful Dead selling his tie dyed designs.

He got started working with glass by taking several classes at Bullseye Glass in Portland, Oregon where he lived for 25 years before moving back home to the Dallas Ft Worth, Texas area.

After building his glass studio he continued expanding his knowledge and technique by reading several dozen books on the subject. Stanman currently works from a 900 square foot studio in the DFW metroplex and has expanded his skills and equipment to include sand carving glass, ceramic picture tiles and creating his own glass canes.

Stanman worked many long nights with his kilns to create unique patterns in glass. After countless hours experimenting with many different ideas, Stanman rediscovered some old world techniques to make what he calls "Tie Dye Glass".
